Travis Perkins are currently looking for a Purchase Ledger Team Leader to join the finance department. The role is to effectively manage a team of Purchase Ledger Clerks ensuring correct and timely processing of all scheduled tasks. Responsible for ensuring that the day to day work loads are managed within a timely manner by way of managing performance from target setting to achievement. With this role the business will be capable of supporting and developing other indirectly related projects more efficiently and cost effectively.


  • Manage and communicate day to day workload ensuring expected team targets are achieved

  • Support to the Purchase Ledger SupervisorSupervisor in ensuring the strategic advantage is achieved by providing an industry leading accounts payable infrastructure

  • Effectively lead, motivate and where necessary train team members.

  • Maximise Opportunities for skill development and motivation.

  • Assist in setting monthly goals and objectives and ensure the department meets productivity standards.

  • Identify errors and error patterns, ensure corrective feedback and escalate training needs to supervisor / manager if necessary

  • Escalate difficult and emotional situations to the department Supervisor/Manager

  • Ensure collation of sufficient notes relating to individuals performance for the purpose of monthly performance reviews. To be documented in line with company practice.

  • Delegation of work assignments matching the responsibility to the person.

  • During holiday and sickness reorganise workload to ensure that team targets are achieved.

  • Assisting in interview selection when required.

  • Manage any purchase ledger accounts where deemed necessary.

  • Escalate any issues/problems to the supervisor or manager when necessary.

  • Absenteeism/holiday recording

  • Observe health & safety procedures.

  • Participate in company meetings and training sessions.
